How Beam compares

Beam is a local-first prototype that watches what AI coding agents do and scans skills and MCP servers before you trust them — it observes and flags, it does not block. Several tools below already ship blocking, fleet deployment, or are free and open source; this page says so plainly rather than around it.

Tools that watch what a coding agent does on a developer's own machine — shell commands, file access, tool and MCP calls. This is the layer Beam sits in.
