Authentication & Secrets
Passkey
Also: FIDO2 credential, WebAuthn credential
A login credential made of a key pair that lives on your device and signs in only for the real site address.
In more detail
The private key never leaves the device and is unlocked by a fingerprint, face or PIN; the site stores only the public key. Because the signature is bound to the true address, a look-alike page cannot obtain a usable login, which is why passkeys are called phishing-resistant.
