Approval Fatigue
Also: permission fatigue, prompt fatigue
The decline in scrutiny a person gives to approval prompts as their number grows.
In more detail
When a human is the gate, every prompt costs attention, and most prompts are safe. People learn that approve is almost always right and look less carefully as a session continues. A study of more than 409,000 decisions in a browser game found players missed about one in three malicious commands, with miss rates rising late in sessions and quiet commands such as a credential read or a familiar-sounding script missed more than loud destructive ones. Fewer, better-targeted prompts beat many routine ones.
