DNS Resolver
Also: recursive resolver
The server that looks up a name on your behalf and remembers the answer for a while.
In more detail
Your device asks its resolver, which queries the root servers, then the registry for the top-level domain, then the domain's own authoritative server, and returns the address. Whoever runs the resolver can see which names you look up.
